General Information

The Academic Advising Referral Handbook is published by The Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs, The Housing Division, Weston Exploration Program. It is compiled and edited by Tonia White-Rose with the Associate Dean or chief undergraduate affairs officer from each college represented. The cover design was by Ronnie Berk, the handbook design was by Patricia Bowers and Howard Schein, and the concept was by Ned Laff.

This handbook is distributed to those people listed in this volume and to all Resident Advisors in the University Residence Halls via the Weston Exploration web site.

Academic Advising Website

The Undergraduate Academic Advising website is created through the Office of the Provost and the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs to assist students and advisors.

Computer Discussion List

Academic Advisors’ Group

Academic Advisors at the University of Illinois (IlliAAC) is open to academic advisors, advising staff, and anyone interested in issues concerning academic advising. The committee meets three times a semester, hosts a workshop once a year, and is responsible for training new advisors. How to Use This Book

This book is for students and advisors who work with students from all colleges and curricula on the UIUC campus. It is designed to help users quickly access answers to the basic "who, what, where" questions students most frequently ask and then to make referrals. The handbook is divided by colleges and schools, organized in alphabetical order.

The left-hand column consists of University-wide information categories; the right-hand column gives referral information about each category. E.g., to find out about late add/drop procedures for Applied Life Studies, go to LATE ADD/DROP in the left-hand column of the ALS college chapter, the information is in the right-hand column.
